Youth Horse Club - Overview

The purpose of Horse Club is to introduce people to horses that would not necessarily have the opportunity to be around horses otherwise.  Although this is not a riding club, participants will ride once during the season (weather permitting).

Horse Club dates are posted below. It takes place at Dreamweaver Ranch, rain or shine.


Next Horse Club starts on April 19, 2020.  To register, scroll to the bottom of this page and click the "Register Now" button.  Your paid registration will hold your spot.

Structure

  • Group 1 - Level 1 Youth 6 & over
  • Group 2 - Level 2 Youth (must have completed level 1)
  • Minimum 6, Maximum 9 participants per group.
  • Groups may be split by age depending on registrations.
  • Times will be determined based on registrations.

Price

  • $155 per person for 6 sessions (includes t-shirt).
  • No discounts for joining mid-season.
  • No refunds for missed sessions.
  • We accept cash, cheques, or e-Transfers.
  • Payment completes your registration (no holds).
  • T-shirt colour changes each season.

Guidelines

  • No experience necessary.
  • No horse required (you don't have to bring a horse).
  • Participants will not be riding except for one time during the season (weather permitting).
  • Everyone that enters the property (parents and children) must sign the barn rules and liability waivers. It’s an insurance requirement and is mandatory.

Parents/Guardians

  • Parents are expect to stay during the session but are not expected to participate.
  • Mandatory parental supervision for children under 18.
  • Everyone must act respectfully towards the horses at all times.
  • Please come 10 minutes early so we can start on time.

Barn Rules & Waiver Requirements

Every participant (riding or not) must read the barn rules and sign a waiver in order to enter the property.  This is an insurance requirement and is mandatory.  A copy of the barn rules and waiver are below.  For youth under 18, a parent or legal guardian and the child must sign the waiver.

What to Wear

Winter: Participants should come dressed for the weather conditions wear a boot with a heel. Winter boots are fine as long as they have a heel. Helmets will be provided when riding. A thin toque will fit under the helmet.
 
Summer: Participants should come dressed for the weather and always wear long pants and a boot with a heel. Cowboy boots are preferred but rubber boots are fine as long as they have a heel. Helmets will be provided when riding. For safety purposes, all guests are asked to wear closed-toed shoes (no flip flops, sandals, or any other open-toed shoes).  You may also want to bring water, bug spray and sun block.
